"The mission of PCAC is to empower practicing primary care practitioners to impact positive changes in health care that will improve patient care and reduce physician and nurse practitioner burnout. Primary care practitioners are trained to tackle a wide range of complex medical problems, are able to assess and treat patients comprehensively, and have close relationships with their patients. We understand the health care delivery system and how to best deliver the highest quality and value. There is no group better positioned to craft effective reform and to lead efforts to improve our medical system."
PCAC was founded by Dr. Andy Lazris after completing his book Curing Medicare. Dr. Lazris realized that one of the most salient problems in current health care reform efforts is the lack of primary care input. Primary care practitioners had no vehicle through which to impact change, and we are hopeful that PCAC will alter that reality.
